Upcoming events in my me-centric universe…

BOOK STUFF:

I’m on the TV!

SAT. March 18th…I’ll be reading from MORE THAN THEY COULD CHEW (called by various folks, ‘kink-noir,’ ‘a breath of dirty fresh air’…fic pic by the Sunday NY times back in april 2005…) on “Marty’s Corner” (with Marty Shields)…i’ll be doing a short reading from the novel (either the enema sex/love scene or the fetal pigs for sale scene…I have not decided…I also don’t know if there are any restrictions about what I’m allowed to read…), tossing free copies into the crowd (thanks, Danielle at Harper Collins, for my promo tossin’ copies), and then chatting on the couch with Marty about something or other…tune in, or come by the studio for the live taping. More info:

On Adelphia channel 3 (KCAT), the Current Marty's Corner plays EVERY Saturday at 8:00 pm (PST) and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Midnight. The Previous month's Marty's Corner also plays Fridays at 5:00 pm and 9:00. More info:

Guitar & Amp Porn

Here's a fun pair...my '66 Harmony H-72 (got on tour back in 87 or 88, in a philly pawn shop--traded it for a diamond earring my grandmother had given me to set in a ring when i 'met the right girl'...i was certain the right girl would understand trading a dumb old earring for a H-72 with a factory Bigsby and sweet sounding DeArmong pickups)...along with a buddy's beautiful late 40's Magnatone amp...i just replaced all the caps and a bunch of other stuff...it's singing...very tweed deluxe tone. Yummy.

Guitar and amp porn

Up for display this week is an early 60's Kay...a killer little amp...tube line-up for the gear geeks...5Y3 rectifier...2 12ax7's, one 12au7 for the tremolo and 2 6V6 for screamin output.

How's it sound? Like a Tweed Deluxe, but with a little more volume...and check out the crazy swirly grill.

next to it is one of my beater gits that i play/abuse in the Chairs...(i didn't want to hit my tele or Jazzmaster with a wrench, as I do in that band for huricanes of noise)....a 1982 squire Bullet 1 (with Telescaster neck...yum).
